RWU Law is one of only 5 law schools in the country that specializes in marine affairs. Of these schools, RWU Law is only one of 2 that specialize in admiralty and maritime law.



Danielle Dufault, 3L

Danielle Dufault, 3LDanielle Dufault arrived at RWU Law after spending nearly two decades as a professional figure skater, and later as a professional figure skating coach, managing and coaching – as well as designing costumes and collaborating on choreography for – synchronized skating teams of between 16 to 22 skaters.

Her work at RWU Law displays a similar talent for weaving together a tough array of demanding parts into a harmonious whole. As a first year law student, she worked for the prestigious Brooklyn Defender Services during Alternative Spring Break, and she has also served as research assistant, Professor Jane Rindsberg. Danielle has served as President of RWU Law’s Moot Court Board, as an intern to the Honorable Maureen KcKenna Goldberg of the Rhode Island Supreme Court, as an intern to the Honorable John J. McConnell, Jr. of the U.S. District Court of the District of Rhode Island.

“You would have to try not to network at RWU Law,” she said. “You would have to try not to succeed.”
